How do you handwrite a title?

When typing, book titles—in fact, the titles of any full-length works—should always be italicized. Titles of shorter works, such as a poem or short story, should be put in quotation marks. You should only underline the titles of full-length works if your essay is handwritten (as italics aren’t an option).

How are titles punctuated?

The general rule is that self-contained works or collective works are italicized, whereas works that are part of a collective work are set in quotation marks. So, for example, the title of a newspaper, television show, or musical album would be set in italics.

How do you punctuate a magazine title?

Use quotation marks around the titles of short poems, song titles, short stories, magazine or newspaper articles, essays, speeches, chapter titles, short films, and episodes of television or radio shows. Do not use quotation marks in indirect or block quotations.

How do you show a movie title in writing?

Italics are used for large works, names of vehicles, and movie and television show titles. Quotation marks are reserved for sections of works, like the titles of chapters, magazine articles, poems, and short stories.
